Czech Effishunters make their way to the Balkans. They pulled it off in Slovenia with the national carrier SŽ - Tovorni promet


CZ LOKO is entering the Slovenian railway market with a delivery of its flagship EffiShunter 1000, thus confirming its strong position on the European railway market. The Czech exporter won the tender for the Slovenian national carrier Slovenske železnice – Tovorni promet concerning the delivery of four shunting locomotives to be operated in the Koper port. EffiShunter 1000 prevailed in the competition of established European and American manufacturers and best meets the demanding criteria of the customer, related also to operation in coastal environment.

Their operation in Slovenia also envisages the installation of the INDUSI train control system which, ultimately, means that the technical solution can also be extended to other Balkan countries.

CZ LOKO and its Effishunter 1000 successfully participated in another tender in Italy. The TPER joint-stock company will purchase two EffiShunter 1000 locomotives with an option for another four locomotives. They will be used by its subsidiary Dinazzano PO, which has been a long-term customer of CZ LOKO and already has four locomotives of class 741.7 in operation. The new EffiShunter 1000 locomotives are expected to ensure line service in the Emilia Romagna region as well as for shunting in logistics centres such as Reggio Emilia or Rubiera. The company transports over three and a half million tons of goods per year.

Following the latest success stories in Finland, the Baltic countries, Italy, Turkey and Slovenia, CZ LOKO intends to continue its expansion to other countries where the operation of Czech locomotives has no tradition,” added Jan Kutálek, Sales Director of CZ LOKO, on the contract.
