Rail Cargo Carrier – Czech Republic, a Czech freight carrier belonging to the Austrian group ÖBB, has become the first private operator of an EffiShunter 1000M locomotive in the Czech Republic. The locomotive is being delivered to the operator in cooperation with Unicredit Leasing CZ, which is the owner of the locomotive and has been leasing the locomotive to RCC CZ for a long time. The delivery of the locomotive also includes the new MyLOKO application for locomotive fleet management and maintenance. The handover took place at the turn of November and December at the CZ LOKO plant in Jihlava.
The locomotive equipped with ECTS will be used mainly in the Ostrava region, but will be approved for operation in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
“Our contractual partner is Unicredit Leasing, with whom the carrier has concluded a contract for its lease and maintenance. The complete maintenance will be taken care of by our company under a full service contract, which is the current trend,” said Michal Schaffer, Head of Marketing.
RCC also has two EffiLiner 1600 “Bizon” locomotives in its fleet, also through Unicredit Leasing. The company, which is part of the state railway Österreichische Bundesbahne (ÖBB), uses them in its subsidiaries RCC – Czech Republic and RCC – Slovakia.
